History
Robert H. Roberts Memorial Home was established in 1948 on North Park Avenue in downtown Warren, and since then, they have offered a valuable service to the public which will continue under its new owners, Lane Funeral Homes, Inc.
Robert H. Roberts, son of the former mayor of Warren, founded the funeral home and owned and operated the business for 41 years until his death in 1989.
In 1957, Robert H. Roberts Memorial Home changed locations to 180 Garfield Drive in Warren on the east side. It is said that at that time the funeral home was noted as one of the most modern and was one of the first buildings to be built for the specific use of funeral services.
Upon the death of Roberts in 1989, the ownership and operation was taken over by long-time Employees Rick G. Clark, president; Dennis A. Johnson, vice president; Robert M. Laird, Sr., secretary and Barry G. Lamer, treasurer. Clark and his associates were the owners of the funeral home until its purchase in March by Lane Funeral Homes, a fifth generation family funeral company.
