Obituary

CANFIELD-Allen H. Coad, 83, of Canfield and formerly of Salem, passed away peacefully December 10, 2006 in Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland.
Mr. Coad was born in Parma on June 22, 1923 and was the son of the late Philip H. and Dorothy Anna (Wagner) Coad.
Mr. Coad was a graduate of Parma High School and a 1945 graduate from The Ohio State University with a Bachelorâ€(TM)s Degree of Science. He was employed as Secretary-Treasurer of Cleveland Union Stockyards for twenty-five years. Later, he and his twin brother, Donald, co-owned and operated Coad Ford Inc. in Oil City, PA.
Mr. Coad was a member of the Greenford Christian Church, a life member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, and a 50 year member and past Master of Parma Masonic Lodge #721. He was also a Trustee of the Cleveland Livestock Association and a charter member and past president of the Evening Optimist Club of Cleveland.
Mr. Coad is survived by two children, David A. (Carol) of Mayfield Heights, Martha D. (Bradley) Justice of Canfield; a twin brother Donald H. (Shirley) of Winter Springs, Fl; a sister Phyllis D. Cassidy of North Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister-in-law Ruth Coad of Bowling Green, KY; two grandchildren Sarah D. and Daniel B. Justice, and was an uncle, great uncle, and friend.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Coad was preceded in death by a brother Arthur L. Coad.
Friends may call from 5 until 7 PM at the Greenford Christian Church 11767 Lisbon Rd. Canfield, Ohio 44406 on Thursday, December 14, 2006, where a funeral service will also take place at 7PM Thursday with Pastor Jeff Hugus officiating.
A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to the Greenford Christian Church Center of Hope, P.O. Box 53, Greenford, Ohio 44422 or a charity of the donors choice.
