Byron R. "Bud" Richards, 87, of Warren passed away peacefully at 5:50 PM Wednesday Oct.19, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 10, 1924 in New Castle, PA the son of the late Cadwalter and Helen (Troup) Richards.
Bud was a lifetime area resident. He was raised in Niles and graduated from Niles McKinley High School.
Following high school he served in the US Navy for 4 years during WW II. He was a Radioman First Class and an intelligence specialist stationed in China. He received the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign medal with 1 star, the American Area Campaign medal, the Good Conduct medal, and the WW II victory medal.
Following the war, Bud returned to this area and went to work at Packard Electric for 35 years retiring in 1977 as a general foreman in Plant 14.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Niles. He enjoyed golf and especially spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Olga (Kuhart) Richards in 2007.
Bud will be sadly missed by his son Larry (Jean) Richards of Cortland, 2 granddaughters Lora (Bret) Dennis of Warren, Diana (Derrick) Fry of Miamisburg, OH, and a great grandson Landon Fry. He also leaves 2 brothers Marvin (Beverly) Richards of Siesta Key, FL, Edward Richards of Chagrin Falls, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday Oct. 22, 2011 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received from 12 noon until service time. Pastor Glenn Hamilton will officiate. Entombment will be in the Pineview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
