Funeral services will be 12 pm Thursday at the Lane Family Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel for Elizabeth "Betty" C. Muir who passed away Sunday morning at Select Speciality Hospital in Warren.
Betty was born October 29, 1911 in West Mead Township, Crawford County, PA a daughter of the late Ray Edward and Ethel May (Butler) Hanes.
She retired as a clerk from GC Murphy in 1986 and then worked for Anderson Florist.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Titusville and a Lifetime member of the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She belonged to the AARP, the Happy Wanderers Club, and the Twin States Auto Racing Club – attending sprint car races, and NASCAR in Charlotte, NC and Bristol, TN.
She enjoyed traveling, auto racing, crafts, flower arranging, sewing, crocheting, and gardening.
Her husbands, Clarence L. Harris and Harold J. Muir both precede Betty in death.
Betty will be sadly missed by her children: Richard J. (Roberta) Harris of Bristolville, and Joyce E. (Eugene) Leamer of Lordstown, one sister Ardelle Hutchison of Titusville, PA, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; a niece Judy VanCise of Titusville, PA; and several other nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Betty is preceded in death by two sons: Robert L. Harris and Darwin J. Muir; one sister; four brothers; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 pm until 7 pm Wednesday and from 11 am until 12 noon Thursday at the funeral home.
