James "Bird" Koliser, 68, of Youngstown, passed away peacefully at his home, Jan 19, 2013, with his family at his side.
He was born Dec. 25, 1944, in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Anna Koliser.
James was a member of the U.S. Army, serving from 1962-1968.
He retired from the United States Postal Service after 29 years of service as a mechanic, and was previously employed with Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church and the American Legion Post 301. He enjoyed golfing, boating, and riding his motorcycles. James loved to travel with his wife; Sara, most recently traveling to Hawaii and Alaska. He was the sweetest man that loved spending time with his family.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Sara, whom he married, Nov. 8, 1984, a daughter Cyndi (Wayne) Price-Stout, of Coco Beach, FL., a son Richard Koliser, of Falls Church, VA., a sister; Mary Lou (Larry) Kennedy, of Boardman, a brother-in-law; George Milick, of Boardman, two grandchildren; Autumn Rae and Shaylee, a nephew; Ted and many other nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by a brother; Louis, a sister; Francis, a sister-in-law; Betty and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at 11:00am. Friends will be received from 10:00am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Valley.
