Adelbert W "Del" Wilber

Adelbert W. "Del" Wilber, 93 of Warren, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was born September 7, 1918 in Rock Creek, the son of the late Merle and Agnes Hoyt Wilber. Del was a 1936 graduate of Rock Creek High School and attended Youngstown College. He retired from Republic Steel Corp. as superintendant of combustion and utilities, after 46 years of service. Del was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. He was an active freemason and was past master and 63 year member of Carroll F. Clapp Lodge No. 655 F&AM. Del was also a member of Old Erie Lodge No. 3, past patron of Morning Light Chapter No. 80 Order of the Eastern Star, member of Trinity White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 42, member of Ali Baba Grotto, a 32nd degree mason in Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown and York Rite Mahoning Chapter No. 10 and Warren Commandery No. 39. Del was an avid fisherman and loved woodworking. Del is survived by one daughter, Nancy Werner of Warren; one son, Kenneth (Helen) Wilber of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Dr. Thomas (Laurrie) Wilber and Kenneth (Amy) Wilber Jr. both of Atlanta, Patricia (David Penzone) Werner of Columbus; seven grreat grandchildren, Vivienne, Madison, Gracie and Bailey Wilber all of Atlanta and Giuseppe, Genevieve and Adelaide Penzone all of Columbus; three sisters, Georgia Frey of Mentor, Margaret Anderson of Chardon and Evelyn Fernandez of Rome, Ohio and four brothers, Ivan, John, Robert and Gordon Wilber all of Rock Creek. His wife of 67 years, Ida Marie Smith Wilber, whom he married December 6, 1940, preceded in death on January 15, 2008. One son, William Wilber preceded him in death in 2000 and two brothers, Larry and Alvin also preceded in death. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel in Warren, where Carroll F. Clapp Lodge will conduct the masonic service at 4:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor David Robert Black officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll F.
