Adell C. Mccrae

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday in the Lane Funeral Home Niles Chapel for Adell C. McCrae, 89, who died Monday morning at Omni Manor Health Care Center in Youngstown. He was born April 16, 1920 in Macon, GA., a son of Alexander and Willie Bell (Johnson) McCrae, and he came to this area as a child. He was a 1938 graduate of Rayen High School. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. He worked as a welder for General Fireproofing for 30 years before retiring. He was also a Mahoning county deputy sheriff for 20 years. He was a member of St. Columba Cathedral. He was also a member of the Masons, and he enjoyed fishing and swimming. He married the former Ruby J. Williams July 31, 1955 and she preceded him in death October 25, 2008. He is survived by two children; Rick McCrae of Youngstown and Alicia Grant of Campbell. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Brittney and Kamorin Grant; a sister Loudell Kelly of Cleveland, and a sister-in-law Willa Mae Ramsey of Youngstown. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter Cindy McCrae; five brothers and four sisters. Friends may call from 12-1pm Friday at the funeral home with services immediately following. Burial will take place in Belmont Park Cemetery.
