Agnes Brenkus

Agnes "Aggie" (Hrenko) Brenkus, 82 of Vienna passed away peacefully in the presence of her daughters at 4:04am December 31, 2008 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren. Aggie was born the daughter of the late George and Anna (Lazor) Brenkus in Monesson, PA on January 10, 1926. A lifetime area resident; Aggie graduated from Warren G. Harding High School. She was a member of St. Roberts Catholic Church in Cortland. She married her husband, Philip Brenkus on October 7, 1946. Together they shared 62 years of marriage. Aggie is survived by her husband Philip; three daughters, Shirley (Richard) Moy of Cortland, Linda (John) McElhinny of Greenville, PA, Laura McLaughlin of Howland Twp.; a son Paul Brenkus of Orlando, Florida; a brother Andrew (Ila) Hrenko of Warren; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral mass will be held 10am Friday January 2, 2009 at St. Roberts Catholic Church in Cortland with Father Carl Kish officiating. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 25 S.
