Austintown-Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Monday, December 5, 2005 in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austintown for Alan Lee Stark of Callaway Circle in Austintown, who passed away at 5:32 PM Thursday, December 1, 2005 in Forum Health Northside Medical Center following a short illness. Alan was 60. Alan was born on January 1, 1945 in Youngstown, Ohio and was the only son of Elmer and Cleo (Walker) Stark and lived in the area all of his life. Alan retired in 2000 from RMI Titanium after working for 33 years as a Rigger. After retiring, he owned and operated Al’s Pit Stop Concession Business; visiting numerous festivals. Alan was honorably discharged from the United States Marines. Alan was of the Lutheran faith and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austintown, where he was an usher and served as a trustee. He also volunteered regularly at the church. Alan was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. Most of all, Alan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his two great nephews. Alan will be sadly missed by his former wife Shirley A. Lamb of Austintown; two daughters Doreen A. (Larry) Knight of Canfield, and Dana R. (John Waller) Greene of Mineral Ridge; a sister Colleen (John) Hoppa of Austintown; grandchildren Ashley R. Bindas, Jessica M. Greene, Jacob A. Bindas, Olivia N. Knight, and the soon to be Dylan J. Waller; 3 nieces, a nephew; 2 great nieces, and 2 great nephews. Besides his parents, Alan was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Stark-Goad. Family will receive friends from 2 until 5 PM Sunday, December 4, 2005 and from 9:30 until 10:30 AM Monday, December 5, 2005 in the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel, where closing prayers will be recited at 10:30 AM Monday prior to leaving for church. Burial will take place in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
