Alda E. "Cookie" Browning, 90, of Warren died 2:40 PM Tuesday Aug.5, 2008 at her great niece's home in Howland Twp. following a short illness. She was born Feb.15, 1918 in Deer Park, MD the daughter of James E. and Georgia (Case) Browning. A Warren area resident for most of her life, Alda graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and attended business college for 2 years. She was employed as an executive secretary for 43 years at the Ohio Lamp Division of General Electric retiring in 1982. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and she loved to travel. Alda was a member of the GE travel club and had traveled throughout the world. She also enjoyed golf and bowling with the GE bowling league. Preceding her in death were 3 brothers; Harold, Eldwin, Dale and 2 sisters Deilha and Odavee. Cookie will be sadly missed by her great niece and caregiver Sue Ellen Smith of Howland and numerous nieces and nephews including Betty Wagner of Warren and Harold Hinebaugh of Champion. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday Aug. 8, 2008 at Roberts-Clark Chapel where friends will be received for 1 hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ronald Spore will officiate.
