Mrs. Alda M. Hodil, 84, of Masury, OH passed away early Monday morning December 6, 2010 at the Sharon Regional Health Center. She was born on August 14, 1926 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of Sylvester and Jesse (Holland) Gross. Mrs. Hodil worked for many years as a caregiver to the terminally ill and had been a homemaker and mother to her family. She was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church where she had been active with the children’s youth group, and the Brookfield Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary where she was known for her fundraising efforts especially during the knives sale. In earlier years, Alda enjoyed floral crafting and had belonged to several card clubs. She will be sadly missed by her five children Albert (Sue) Clarke of Pedalis Park, FL, Alda Fraizer of Chief Land, FL, Kenneth (Rebecca) Hodil Jr. of Hermitage, PA, Keith Hodil and Duane (Charlotte) Hodil all of Masury, OH; her sister Emma Kelly of Bloomfield, PA; ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hodil was preceded in death by her husband’s Albert Clarke and Kenneth Hodil Sr., her parents, and by her brother Clarence Gross. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00PM on Wednesday evening December 8, 2010 at the Madasz Funeral Chapel 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, OH. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Thursday morning December 9, 2010 at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Morgan of the Sharon Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be with her husband at the Brookfield Township Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy the family requests that contributions be made to the Brookfield Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
