Alden J. Horner, age 81, of Johnston Township died Wednesday November 4, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born on January 20, 1934 in Reynoldsvile, Pennsylvania a son of the late Robert B. and Jessie (Geer) Horner. Alden severed in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He worked in steel industry as a crane operator for Van Huffle and Wheatland Tube for over 35 years. He leaves behind his three daughters; Debbie (Art) Ellis of Fowler, Linda L. Hernandez of Warren, Terri J. Bartholomew of Warren one son, James A. Horner of Johnston; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three siblings, Patty Miller of Reynoldsville, PA Robert Horner of Johnston and Jack Horner of Vienna. Besides his parents, Alden is preceded in death by is wife, the love of his life, Dorothy N. Horner whom he married on March 2, 1957, she died on March 24, 2013. Alden was also preceded in death by two grandchildren Angel L. Horner and William J. Hernandez Jr., and three brothers Gene, Merle and Roy. Funeral services will be held November 6, 2015 at 12:30 pm at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel, 164 N. High Street, Cortland OH. 44410. Family and friends may call from 11 am until the time of the service on Friday. Interment will take place at All Souls Cemetery.
