Alexine "Ikky" Jackson

Alexine "Ikky" Jackson, of Austintown, passed away at 12:15PM Sunday, February 28, 2010 in the Hospice House in Poland following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 72 years old. Ms. Jackson was born September 27, 1937 in Monroe, Louisiana the daughter of the late Jean and Pocahontas (Winston) Jackson. Ms. Jackson was retired from Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. Ms. Jackson was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Teamster Local 377 and enjoyed gardening, cooking, landscaping, interior decorating and was an avid reader. She gave a lot of time and talent to local charities. She was an animal lover and a devoted pet owner to Red Cloud. Ms. Jackson will be deeply missed by her daughter Lisa Jackson of Austintown; and two sisters Iris Elaine Williams of Southfield, Michigan and Dorothy Rose Council of Youngstown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Jeannine Marie Jackson and a brother Angelo Cortez Jackson. In honoring Alexine's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Arrangements were handled under the direction of the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel.
