Allan W Macker

Allan W. Macker, 93, formerly of Warren, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio. He was born on May 15, 1922 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, son of the late Arthur W. and Ethel (Ballou) Macker. Allan married his wife Helen D. "Peg" (Danziger) Macker on August 12, 1944. He retired in 1978 from LTV Steel where he worked as an Executive Manager in Marketing and Engineering. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp where he served as a 1st Lieutenant with the 8th Air Force in England. Allan was an active member of the Vienna Presbyterian Church for over 50 years. Allan is survived by his wife of 71 years, Helen D. "Peg" Macker; children, Bruce A. Macker of Vienna, OH, Pamela A. Macker of Washington, D.C., and B A Macker of Warren, OH; two granddaughters, Dr. Julie K. Macker, PhD., of Columbia, SC, and Jennifer L. (Mike) Timko of Warren, OH; and one great-granddaughter, Lauren I. Timko. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, June Copeland and Arleita Macker. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Vienna Presbyterian Church, 4295 Warren-Sharon Rd, Vienna, OH from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. A memorial service will follow calling hours at the church beginning at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Judy Bender officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in memory of Allan to the Vienna Presbyterian Church, 4295 Warren-Sharon Rd, Vienna, OH 44473.
