Alma G. Haren

Austintown- Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Sat. at the Lane Funeral Home-Austintown Chapel for Alma G. Haren age 89 of 91 Rosemont Ave. who died early Wed. morning in North Side Hospital. Alma was born May 17,, 1915 in Blue Ridge, GA and was the daughter of Talton and Francis (Conley) Green. and came to this area in 1941. She retired in 1980 from St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a nurses aid on the maternity ward. Alma’s greatest joy was her family, and she was the center of a large and extended clan. She loved flowers, quilting, and all babies, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her acceptance of others, her incredible strength, sense of humor and wonderful home cooking. Her husband Willis Haren preceded her in death in 1974. She is survived by three daughters, Peggy Zubrinich of Youngstown, Barbara Melnik of Katy, TX, Kathy French of Youngstown, two sons Roy and his wife Donna Haren and Gary and his wife Dena Haren both of Boardman, a sister Hettie Green and a brother Robert Green both of Blue Ridge, GA, 25 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter Molly Gerchak, a sister Euzella Setser, five brothers, Luke, Chester, James, Everett, and Gene Green and two grandchildren Deborah Gerchak and Shawn Haren. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10-12 noon Sat.
