Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Canfield Christian Church for Alma L. Coy, 89, of Canfield who passed away Sunday in Essex of Salem Care Center. Alma was born November 22, 1917 in Youngstown the daughter of Roy Fenton and Ethel (Mitchell) Davis. She was a home maker and along with husband Walter, owned and operated Coy Brothers Trucking Company and Marcus Corners Gas Station and Market. She was an active member of the church where she was a Deaconess, Sunday School Superintendent, and a Sunday School Teacher. Alma was also active in the Canfield Republican Party, and a poll worker for many years. She also owned and operated a ballroom dance studio in Canfield for several years and was the choreographer for several musicals at Canfield High School. Alma and Walter won several ballroom dancing competitions. She was a past president of Kiwaniqueens, and an avid baker and bowler. Alma leaves her husband Walter E. Coy whom she married July 11, 1936 ; four children, Arlan R. (Patricia) Coy and Wesley R. Cheryl) Coy both of Salem, Rev. Emerson L. (Julie) Coy of Lac du Flambeau, WI, and Rev. Walter A. (Joyce) Coy of Canfield, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Besides her parents, Alma was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Paul and Wilson Davis, 2 sisters; Alberta Hahn and Mable Kelley, and one Step-brother; Eddy Dowl. Family and friends may call from 7 to 9 PM today at the church and again from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday.
