Alton Daris Taylor

Alton Daris Taylor, age 69, of Leavittsburg passed away on Friday evening, September 28, 2007, at his home with his loving wife, children and faithful dog, Sassy, at his side. He survived a courageous battle with lymphoma, only to be taken from us a short time later with stomach cancer. He was born November 29, 1937 in Beech Creek, Kentucky the son of the late Arthur and Fanny (Carrol) Stewart. Al served in the Army National Guard and worked at Rockwell International, ITT Grinnell, Taylor Winfield and ATD Corporation. He retired in 2002. Al enjoyed roller skating, NASCAR racing, yard work and all types of fabricating, construction and woodworking. He enjoyed working on and restoring classic Chevrolet cars and was a member of the Classic Chevy Club for 25 years. Al loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and his side kick, Sassy. He is survived by his wife of 25 years and high school sweetheart, Carol (MacKendrick) Taylor, whom he married January 29, 1983; two sons, Tom (Corina) Taylor of Sedro-Woolley, WA and Jeffrey (Danica) Taylor of Warren; three daughters, Michelle (Randy) Combs of Palm Bay, FL; Julie (Wayne) Davenport of Escanaba, MI and Sharon (Robert) Massey of Windham; thirteen grandchildren; one brother, William Taylor of Leavittsburg and one sister, Mary Lou Taylor of Warren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Carl MacKendrick. Al will be sadly missed by his family, friends and especially by his faithful dog. Arrangements are being handled by Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren. Cremation will be held and, according to Al's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in his memory be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1296 Tod Place N.W., Suite 202, Warren, OH 44485.
