"Together Again" AUSTINTOWN - Amanda M. Mellott, 85, died on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11:05 a.m., at Hospice House in Poland. She was born March 16, 1929, in Creekside, Pa., the daughter of the late Maurice S. and Dorothy Bothel Kunkle. Amanda loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked to play the slots at the casinos. She also attended the Four Mile Run Road Christian Church. Amanda worked at Woolworth's in Youngstown for many years, and then as a food server at YDC, from where she retired. Survivors include her children, Kathy (Kenneth) Mellott of Austintown and Paul (Cathy Melnick) Mellott of Youngstown; her grandchildren, Tracy (Eric) Huddleston of Columbus and Andria (Robert) Simmons of Youngstown; and her great-grandchildren, Robby, Cody, Grady, Kolby, and Amanda Simmons, and Cooper, and Kennedy Rose Huddleston. Other than her parents, Amanda was preceded in death by her second husband, Dale Mellott, on Jan. 27, 2002; they were united in marriage on April 15, 1972; her first husband, Andrew Pavalko, who died in 1970; they were united in marriage in 1948; her step-mother, who raised her from infancy, Esther Fry Kunkle; an infant daughter, Andrea Pavalko; a grandson, Timothy Mellott; and her siblings, Harry Kunkle, Helen Wilhelm, Jean Fabian, and Morris "Sonny" Kunkle. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., today, March 9, 2015, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Pastor Bob Mack will celebrate Amanda's life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House.
