Andrew Apisa

Andrew Apisa, 81, of Mineral Ridge, passed away peacefully, Fri., April 12, 2013 at University Hospital in Cleveland. Andrew was born July 21, 1931, in Farrell, PA the son of Domenico and Anastasia Apisa. He was a 1949 graduate of Farrell High School, a 1959 graduate of Penn State University and a veteran of the United States Navy. After over 25 years of service, Andrew retired from Thomas Steel, where he worked as an Industrial Engineer. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Italian home of Farrell, and the Thomas Steel Retiree's Golf League. He was an avid Indians and Browns Fan and enjoyed to garden and golf. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Marna Apisa, whom he married June 22, 1974, his son; Andrew (Amber) Apisa, of Girard, three daughters; Debra (Mike) Haines, of VA, Deanna Apisa, of Akron, and Andrea Dilts, of Austintown, a brother Domenico "Donnie" Apisa, seven grandchildren; Heather (James) Shinkle, Nicole, Amber and RJ Haines, Giavonna and Anastasia Dilts and Elizabeth Ann Apisa, a great-granddaughter Ella Shinkle and a sister-in-law; Elaine Apisa. Andrew was preceded in death by his brother; Joseph Apisa, a sister; Betty Bindas, son-in-law, Mark Dilts, and his parents. Friends will be received from 5:00pm-7:00pm, on Tuesday April 16, 2013, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 10:00am, at the Mineral Ridge Chapel. Interment will be at Kerr Cemetery.
