ANDREW JOSEPH HOSPODAR JR. age 75 Austintown- Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Andrew Joseph Hospodar Jr. who died Sunday morning in Briarfield Manor Austintown surrounded by his family. Mr. Hospodar was born September 11 1928 in Youngstown the son of Andrew Joseph Hospodar Sr. and Anna Mae (Papp) Hospodar. Mr. Hospodar retired form General Motors – Lordstown Plant as the Shipping and Receiving Inventory Manager. He also worked for Genessee Distributing and Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He graduated in 1947 from Wilson High School. Andrew was a fraternal member of St. Georges Lodge 66 Croatian Home, a past member of the Lake Milton Boat Club, and an avid golfer. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War during which he was stationed in Germany where he played baseball for the Heidelberg Hawks, and toured Germany and played in the European World Series. After his tour of duty he was a stellar pitcher in the class AA league in Youngstown. “Lefty” Played for Lansingville Sportsmen, Worth Clothes, Home Club and Anthony Fence. His wife Doris E. Kerbata whom he married October 20, 1956 passed away April 18, 2004. Andrew leaves two daughters Linda A. (Keith) Rosser of Austintown, Susan M. Hospodar of Austintown, two sons Andrew J. (Christine) Hospodar III of North Jackson, J. Martyn (Donna) Hospodar of Marysville Washington. He is also survived by his two brothers Robert J. (Nancy) Hospodar of Berlin Center and James C. (Terri) Hospodar of Austintown , grandchildren Keith (Betsie) Rosser Jr., Lacey Rosser, Abbey Lallo all of Austintown, Andrew J. IV and Matthew J. Hospodar of North Jackson and great-granddaughter Hannah Rosser of Austintown. Family and friends may call form 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to acknowledge and give thanks to the loving care that was given by the Briarfield Manor Staff and Dr. Jeff Resch.
