Andrew “Andy” Orenchak, formerly of Masury, died Wednesday (8-8-2007) at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was 83. Mr. Orenchak was born in Uniontown, PA on June 2, 1924, a son of Nicholas and Mary (Matsvrovitek) Orenchak. Andrew went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army as a Private during WWII in the European Theater during the Rhineland Campaign. His decorations and citations include: the Sharpshooter Award and the Purple Heart. Shortly after his return from the military, he married the former Fern Dickson on June 7th, 1949. For the majority of his working life, he was a bricklayer and marble setter. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jerry Orenchak and his wife Linda, Chiefland, FL, and David Orenchak, Los Angeles, CA; two daughters, Diane Broderick and her husband Michael, Eustis, FL, Susan Mendorff and her husband Ronald, Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Catherine “Kay” Orenchak and Mary Filipovich, both of Masury, OH; two grandsons and two great-grandsons also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; by three brothers, John & Michael & Charles Orenchak; and by his sister Ann DeMay. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, Ohio, with Rev. Martin Gentzler, Pastor. Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will be in Brookfield Township Cemetery with full military honors.
