Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel for Andrew S. Gaydos of Tallmadge who passed away peacefully on Thursday at Heather Knolls Care Center surrounded by his family. Andrew was born September 16, 1926 in Youngstown the son of Stephen and Elizabeth Gejdos. An Army Veteran, he was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church as well as the Knights of Columbus and Akron Eagles. Andy retired from Akron Pest Control as an exterminator with over fifty years of experience. Besides his wife, the former Irene Toth whom he married February 24, 1949, Andy leaves three children: Andrea (Joe) Lane of Canfield, Irene (Mike) Horning of Suffield, and Tom (Margie) Gaydos also of Suffield. He also leaves four grandchildren: Amanda (Rick) Oberhauser, Katrina (Rob) Church, John Delserone and T.J. Gaydos as well as a great-grandson Michael Thomas Church. Andy was preceded in death by a sister Helen Lucivjansky and several half-brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions may be sent to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105. Andy's family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff at Heather Knolls and Crossroads Hospice for his care in his final days. Friends and family may call from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, two hours prior to the funeral services.
