Ann J Flack

Ann J. Flack, 96, formerly of Warren, passed away 6:55 AM Saturday Feb. 4, 2012 at Victoria House Assisted Living Residence in Austintown. She was born May 23, 1916 in Elkhorn, WV the daughter of the late John (Kocursin) Uram and Justina (Sheptak) Uram. Ann married Clyde Flack July 11, 1936 and they moved to Warren from Butler, PA in 1943. During WW II, she helped the war effort by welding tanks and she was a member of the group of women known as "Rosie the Riveters". She retired from Falls Steel Tube in 1977 after working there for 32 years as a welder. She was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Clyde on Feb. 16, 1992, by three sisters Julia Zaccari, Mary Kopie, Helen Kropko, and by a brother John Uram. She is survived by a son Kenneth (Carol) Flack of Howland, 2 grandsons; Kenneth Flack Jr. of Cortland and Douglas (Nadine) Flack of Upland, Ca, and three great grandchildren; Lily Flack, Annabel Flack, and Blaine Flack. She also leaves a sister Margaret (Scott) Brandt of Butler, Pa, a brother Nicholas Sichak of Lyndora, PA, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday Feb. 24, 2012 at the Christ Episcopal Church where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. J. Jeffery Baker will officiate. Entombment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery Mausoleum. Lane Family Funeral Homes-Roberts-Clark Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
