Anna E Chichak

Anna E. Chichak, 97, of Canfield, passed away at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Briarfield Manor in Austintown. Mrs. Chichak was born on July 1, 1914 in Holdingford, Minnesota the daughter of the late Paul and Ella (Skibo) Troxil and was a graduate of Little Marsh High School in Ashtabula. On May 10, 1941, she married Joseph Chichak at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown and he passed away on January 30, 2004. Mrs. Chichak was a very active charter member of St. Michael Church in Canfield where she belonged to the ladies altar guild and garden club. She worked at Truscon Steel; was a hair stylist at Cavalier's Hair Styling, receiving her training at Lewin-Weinberger & Hill Beauty School Academy; worked at Isaly Dairy in Fosterville for 21 years and she was also a member of Canfield AARP #3104. She was an avid golfer belonging to the Trevlac Golf League, where she was a charter member for 42 years; she was a member of the Canfield Friendship Club where she belonged to several bridge clubs and she loved to travel. Mrs. Chichak is survived by two sisters Mary Troxil and Dorothy Troxil both of Canfield; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers Paul, Michael, Stephen, Elmer, Joseph and William Troxil and three sisters Margaret Troxil, Helen Gibson and Gertrude Troxil Vosburgh. Family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church 281 Grandview Dr, Canfield Ohio, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Canfield Village Cemetery. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff, nurses and workers at Briarfield Manor and Hospice of the Valley for all of their loving and tender care shown to Anna and her family. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Michael Family Life Center or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St. Youngstown, Ohio 44512 in Anna's name.
