Anna G. Reese

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the Canfield Presbyterian Church for Anna G. Reese of Canfield who passed away on Sunday at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. Anna was born September 28, 1919 in Oak Hill, Ohio the daughter of Thomas L. and Elizabeth (Jones) Thomas and graduated from Rio Grande College. She was a retired teacher in the Ohio School Systems teaching in both Canfield and the South Range Schools. She was most recently the pre-school director at her church. Mrs. Reese was a member of the Canfield Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Canfield Historical Society, The American Legion Post 177 Auxiliary, the Calon Lan Welsh Club, and the Red Hat Society. Besides her husband, William E. Reese, whom she married April 21, 1946, Anna leaves two children: Jacquelyn Ann (DJ) Johnson of Mountain Home Idaho, and Thomas (Patty) Reese of Canfield. She also leaves a sister and a brother: Peg Lewis, and Jack Thomas, both of Oak Hill, Ohio. Mrs. Reese also leaves five grandchildren: Jennifer, Katie, Ryan, Kelly, and Kyle. A sister Norma Smith and two brothers: Evan and David Thomas as well as two sons: baby boy and Dennis Lynn Reese preceded her in death. Friends and family may call from 5-8 PM on Wednesday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, as well as one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church. Internment will be in the Canfield Village East cemetery and a memorial luncheon will be served immediately following the funeral services on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Canfield Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund at 140 W. Main St. Canfield, OH 44406 in Anna’s name.
