Anne M Zitello

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am on Thursday January 15, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Austintown for Anne M. Zitello, 90, who died early Sunday morning at Humility House in Austintown. Anne was born on Aug. 27, 1924 in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Philomena (Guelmo) Sassone. Mrs. Zitello was a 1942 Graduate of Rayen High School where she was a letterman in basketball. Before starting her family, she worked on the line at Packard. She also worked at Sam's Wedge Inn in Austintown for many years. She loved going to Mountaineer as well as the new casino in Austintown and playing cards with friends. She leaves behind her children Richard (Dottie) Zitello of Austintown, Mary (Joe) McGuire of Washington, D.C., Donna McMahon of Austintown, Joseph (Tina) Zitello of N. Jackson and Michael (Nancy) Zitello of Austintown, grandchildren Gianna, Brent (Lisa), Autumn, Michael (Brittany), Garret, Joseph (Samantha), Connor, Dylan, Samuel and Ralph, great-grandchildren Ralphie, Rhya, Mateo, Dominic and Olivia, sister in law Gertrude Greco and best friend Jennie Colla as well as many nieces and nephews and members of her Zitello./Crish family. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam "Whimp" Zitello who died on Dec. 6, 2002, and siblings Vince, Lou, Dick, Joe, Rocco and Rose. Friends and family may call from 5-8pm on Wed. Jan. 14, 2015 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown. Closing prayers will be held on Thursday at 11am at the funeral home prior to the Funeral Mass at the church. The family would like to thank the staff of Humility House for the wonderful care provided.
