Anthony C. Sirianni

Anthony C. “Buzz” Sirianni of 575 Thornton Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly on Sunday (6-25-2006) at home, after a sudden illness. He was 63. Mr. Sirianni was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on December 18, 1942, a son of Anthony C. “Gibby” and Mary I. (DeOnna) Sirianni. He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1960 and he went on to Barber School in Pittsburgh. Buzz was very active in valley sports arena having coached little league teams twice to the State Tournament in the 1980’s. In addition, he was a Sportscaster for WPIC for about 10 years. He also was a P.I.A.A. League Umpire in both boys baseball & girls softball. He even was an umpire during State Tournaments. He was probably best known for running his Barber Shop, “Buzz Sirianni’s Barber Shop,” where everyone would gather to talk about, sports, politics, or whatever the topic was. His shop became the “Pulse of Sharon” at times. In his spare time, he enjoyed walking in the park, traveling, watching sports, attending games, and being a loyal Cleveland Browns & Pittsburgh Pirates fan. Most of all, he especially loved spending time with his grandkids who claim him to be the “Best Grandpa on this Earth.” Survivors include: wife, Charlotte J. (Muntean) Sirianni, whom he married July 2, 1966; daughter, Sheila A. Mills & her husband Michael, Cranberry Twp., PA; brothers, Gabriel Sirianni, Masury, OH, Michael Sirianni & his wife Sandra, Sharon, PA, James Sirianni & his wife Janice, Brookfield, OH, Thomas Sirianni, Montgomery, AL, and Jeffrey Sirianni & his wife Linda, Howland, OH; sister, Marlene Kocan & her husband Jerry, Roswell, GA; and 2 grandchildren, Sophia M. and Anthony J. “AJ” Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his sister, Connie Sirianni. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sharon, with Rev. Rick Tomasone, a family friend. Calling hours will be Thursday from 3-7 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will be St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Hermitage, PA. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests contributions can be made to the West Hill Ministries to purchase new sporting equipment.
