A Mass of Christian Burial will be said 10am Tuesday in St. Michael's Catholic Church in Canfield for Anthony P. Vaccaro, Sr., 71, who died early Thursday morning at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman. He was born December 31, 1937 in Youngstown, the son of Alfred and Assunta Vaccaro, and he resided in this area all of his life. He was a 1956 graduate of Youngstown East High School. After graduating from high school he served his country in the U.S. Army for two years, from 1957-1959. He worked as a press operator for General Motors Lordstown for 23 years, retiring in 1995. He was active in the Boy Scouts with his son, previously serving as Assistant Scout Master for Troop 24, and he enjoyed boating and fishing. He is survived by his wife, the former Diana Aaron, whom he married September 15, 1962. He also leaves behind four children; Celeste (Jack) Willison of Canfield; Regina (Michael) Perry of Hilliard; Anthony P., Jr. of Niles; and Alfred (Tracy) Vaccaro of Boardman; seven grandchildren; J.C. and Chelsea Willison; Brian and Alyssa Perry; and Nicole, Lindsey, and A.J. Vaccaro; two sisters; Edith (Steve) Roth of Youngstown; Jean (Bill) McMillan of Campbell; a sister-in-law Jennie Columbo of Youngstown; and his beloved dog and friend Princess. He was preceded in death by his parents; his birth parents Dominic and Antoinette Columbo; four sisters; Alda Minotti, Aria D'Alesio, Lucy Columbo, and Mary Reda; two brothers; Nicholas and Joseph Columbo; and an infant brother, Dominic Columbo. Friends may call from 4-8pm Monday at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
