Anzie Ruth Stevens

Anzie Ruth Stevens, 97, of Brookfield, Ohio passed away peacefully at 7:45 AM on Monday August 13, 2012 at St. Paul's Lutheran Home in Greenville, PA. She was born on March 29, 1915 in Cambridge, Ohio the daughter of James C. and Maude I. (Robey) Morrison. Following her graduation from Cambridge High School, Anzie would marry Raymond F. Stevens on September 1, 1934 and together they would go on to share more than fifty-nine years of marriage. Mrs. Stevens was a longtime member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon and had held weekly Bible classes in her home for many years. She loved quilting and sewing, playing the piano, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stevens leaves behind her beloved son James J. Stevens Sr. and his wife Barbara of Brookfield, OH; four grandchildren David Rickert of Darian, IL, Lorie Stainbrook of Mercer, PA, James J. Stevens Jr. of Brookfield, OH, and Jill Evangelista of St. Augustine, FL; and by her eight great-grandchildren Jeffrey, Nicole, Stephanie, Joseph, Sidney, Adrian, Paige, and Conner. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond on December 12, 1993, her daughter Vivian Rickert, four brothers Kenny, Joe, Jack, and Arthur Morrison; and by her sister Helen Kirby. Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening August 16, 2012 from 4-7:00PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren-Sharon Road Brookfield, Ohio 44403. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning beginning at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon, PA where her husband and daughter are laid to rest.
