Arnett James Fridley, 55 of Cortland passed away Sunday afternoon, May 23, 2010 at his home from complications of diabetes. Born July 1, 1954 in Philippi, WV, he was the son of the late James and Jewell (Muth) Fridley. A 1973 graduate of Mathews High School, Arnett retired in 2007 from General Motors in Lordstown where he worked as an assembler for 25 years. He was also the owner and operator of Fridley Construction Co. Arnett was an avid outdoorsman. He truly loved to hunt and traveled the world on numerous hunting excursions. He also enjoyed fishing, was a NASCAR fan, and a Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. He was a member of the NRA, the Trumbull Rod & Gun Club, the Whitetails Unlimited Club and several other local outdoor and sportsman clubs. Arnett was a devoted friend and cherished his many friendships. He also loved and adored his two pet Labrador retrievers, "Tessie" and "Woody". He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Karen (Dively) Fridley of Cortland whom he married January 24, 1976, a son James C. Fridley of Cortland, and a sister Nancy (Keith) Fridley DeCiancio of PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Kyle Fridley and half brother Robert Smith. The Rev. Gary Hennessey will conduct a funeral service Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 7PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where family and friends may visit from 4 until 7PM. According to Arnett's wishes cremation will take place concluding the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to the Trumbull County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs at 5033 North Park, Warren, OH 44481.
