Arthur L. Gwinnup

CANFIELD- Arthur L. Gwinnup, 69, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015. He was born on May 3, 1946 in Youngstown, OH, son to the late Arthur W. Gwinnup and Priscilla J. (Harsanye) Gwinnup Hedrick. Arthur was a 1964 graduate from Woodrow Wilson High School. He went on to work as a crane operator for U.S. Steel for 18 years, and then went on to work at the Honda Store as an AES certified mechanic before retiring in 2008. Arthur was an avid fisherman and also a drag racer. His drag racing career led him to be a NHRA national record holder in D-Modified Production in 1975. Left to carry on Arthur's memory is his fiancee, Stacy Hoover; and his brother David R. (Linda) Gwinnup. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Snickers. In addition to his parents, Arthur is preceded in death by his step-father, Everette Hedrick, and his sister, P. Jean Janesh. The family will receive friends from 2PM-4PM on Sunday, July 26 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave, where a funeral service will follow at 4PM.
