Arthur Yauger

Arthur Allen Yauger, Age 73, of Champion Twp., died Friday, August 6, 2010 at Windsor House of Champion. He was born on December 14, 1936 in Allentown, PA, a son of the late Harold Yauger and the late Marie Donges Yauger. Arthur was a veteran of the United States Navy and had worked as a pipe fitter for 30 years, retiring from Packard Electric. He was a member of the Cortland Masonic Lodge 529, Ali Baba Grotto and the Shrinners. Arthur was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers fan, but mostly, he enjoyed spending his time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time in his yard working. His wife, Dorothy Lee Yauger, preceded him in death on June 24, 2005. He is survived by a son, Rick E. (Belinda) Yauger of Champion, daughter, Shelley L. Nicholas of Cortland, 3 brothers, Jim, Bill and Harry Yauger and by 2 sisters, Cheryl Rocco and Diane Bumstead. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Devin, Kristen and Rick Yauger and Carina Nicholas. Arthur was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Yauger Jr. and by 2 brothers, Harold and Don Yauger and by 3 sisters, Lois Berger, Judy Hipkins and Doris Vesnick. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland, where the family will receive friends on Monday, August 9, 2010, from 5 PM 7 PM. A funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Monday evening at 7 PM. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 9 AM, where the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard will conduct services.
