Audrey Jean Murray

Audrey Jean Murray, 89 Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4th at Bethel Friends Church, 2771 Spitler Rd., Poland for Audrey Jean Murray, 89 of Boardman who died Tuesday evening at St Elizabeth Boardman Campus. Audrey was born July 17, 1925 in Butler, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late, Eugene and Marjorie Slagle Klingensmith. She graduated from South High School in 1943 and still met every month with her "South High girls" for lunch. Audrey was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Friends Church. She was a member of the senior citizen group of the church and the Christian Women's Club where she served on the financial committee and head of attendance. Audrey was one of the speakers for the Christian Women's Club where she talked about her life. She had deep faith and was a devoted Christian. Audrey loved to shop and enjoyed spending time with her friends. She was a part of the "mall gang". She would go to the mall every Friday, meeting her mall friends for breakfast, lunch, conversation and even getting her hair done. Audrey also loved travelling, especially her vacations to the beach. Her husband, Robert J. Murray whom she married April 19, 1947, died March 6, 2006. She leaves her sister, Carolyn J. "Punky" Stoneburner of Hubbard; three daughters, Shirlee J. (Gale L.) Courtney of North Olmsted, Linda D. "Meg" Murray (Phil) of Boardman, Karen S. (Stephen R.) Chikosky of Boardman; two grandchildren, Nathan L. (Bea) Courtney of Westlake, Ohio, Bette K. (Albert) Morar of Boardman and the light of her life, a great-granddaughter, Lily Morar. Besides her parents and her husband, Audrey was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy S. Murray; four brothers, Arnold, Victor, Ramon, Jimmy and a sister, Pat Dickey. Friends may call on Friday at Lane Family Funeral Home, 8387 Tod Ave., Boardman Chapel from 5:00 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of Bethel Friends Church, 2771 Spitler Rd., Poland, OH 44514.
