A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Highway Tabernacle Church on the corner of Kirk and Raccoon Roads, for Azelia “Sue” Russell, 90, who passed away Wednesday at St Elizabeth Medical Center. Azelia was born October 27, 1915 in Youngstown the daughter of George and Syma (Hanna) Joseph. She was a 1933 graduate of South High School, and a member of the Church where she had been very active for years. Azelia was the owner/operator of both the Sue’s Beauty Solon in the surrounding areas and the Golden Comb in Canfield. Her late husband Alex Russell, whom she married April 12, 1947, went home to be with the Lord October 23, 1999. Sue leaves two children; Wayland and his wife Donna Russell of Canfield and Linda and her husband Patrick Anthony Pilolli of Columbiana, four grand children Lea Marie and her husband Jim Farina, Rachelle Lynn and her husband Kirby Hady, Joseph Anthony Pilolli and Jonathan Alexander Russell. She also leaves two sisters; Caroline Green of Austintown and Marge Billock of Canfield, and one brother Carl and his wife Margery Joseph of Boardman. Family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am in the church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations are made to Hospice of the Valley, 5901 Market Street, Boardman Ohio 44512 in (Azelia) “Sue’s” name. Arrangements were by Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel.
