Barbara J Griffin

Barbara J. (Ruffing) Griffin, 79, of Warren, passed away July 2, 2013 at the St. Joseph's Health Center. She was born February 2, 1934 in Chicago, IL., daughter of the late Charles and Magdeline (Cajune) Ruffing. Barbara graduated from St. Vincent High School in Akron, then went on to earn her Associates degree at Akron University where she was elected ROTC Queen. After college, she worked for several years at Goodyear in Akron. She later retired from St. Joseph's Health Center where she worked as a Billing Clerk. She was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society, the Warren City Democrat Club and the Trumbull County Women's Democrat Club and the Jefferson Club. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Barbara spent the first few years of her life growing up in Minnesota on the White Earth Indian Reservation. She is survived by her husband William David who she married in 1958; one daughter, Julie (Michael) Marado and four grandchildren Michael, Allison and Amy all of Austintown and Sean White of Florida. Her parents, one son, William and a brother Robert preceded her in death. A private graveside service will be held at Pineview Cemetery at a later date. Memorial may be made in her name to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley 90 Mount Tom Road Marietta, Ohio 45750
