Barbara Jean Jacobs

MINERAL RIDGE: Barbara J. Jacobs, age 74 of Mineral Ridge passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Medical Center, Main Campus, Youngstown, Ohio. Barbara was born July 20, 1940 in Youngstown to parents; Harold and Esther (Balla) Jacobs. Barbara spent her life helping others; she loved her career as an LPN, and worked at Woodside Hospital for 10 years and Youngstown Developmental Center, retiring after 30 years of service. Barbara was the type of person who saw the best in others. She always offered a hand and would extend her own hand to anyone needing a warm kind gesture and a smile. Barbara was a symbol of love and hope for many. Barbara belonged to the Carving Club, she enjoyed crafts and loved to draw. She will be greatly missed by her life partner of 28 years; Billie Eileen Goodhart, sisters; Gail (Richard) Korda, Weathersfield Twp., Irma Riley, Youngstown, half-brothers; Casey (Elaine) Baugh, WA., James (Dotie)Baugh, Youngstown, Charles (Shirley) Smith, Columbus, niece; Bonnie (Alexander) Douglas, Girard, nephews, Richard Korda, Weathersfield Twp., Robert (Julie) Korda, Greenville, PA., Daniel Korda, Youngstown, Harold Jacobs, Youngstown, great nieces; Pamela Douglas, Destiny Douglas, great great nephew; Daniel Joseph Lester, pet children; Coco and Bella. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, and several pet children. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel from 5-7pm. Funeral Services will be 11:00am, Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Kerr Cemetery.
