Barbara L. Daley

Barbara L. Daley age 77 Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Real Life Assembly in Salem for Barbara Lucille Daley of Salem who passed way on Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth’s Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown. Barbara was born November 5, 1926 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts the daughter of Allen and Verda (Burdick) Wood. She was formerly a salesperson at JcPenney, and most recently retired from Sears. Barbara also practiced private home health care and attended The Real Life Assembly in Salem. Mrs. Daley leaves seven children: Barbara Scharver of Magnolia, OH, Kathy Freeland of North Jackson, Deborah Daley of Salem, Melissa Ault of North Jackson, David Daley of Salem, Kevin Daley of Berlin Center and Scott Daley of Salem. She also leaves three brothers: James Wood of Amarillo, TX, Lawrence Wood of Westfield, MA, and Kenneth Wood of Pittsfield, MA, and six sisters: Carolyn Houghtaling of Lee, MA, Helen Schiffman of Pittsfield, MA, Charlotte Zehe of St. Petersburg, FL, Shirley Desmond of Southwich, MA, Vera Hasletine and Beverly Bates, both of St. Augustine, Florida. Barbara also leaves fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Daley was preceded in death by her husband Nelson E. Daley, whom she married July 6, 1946 and passed away on December 31, 1990. Two brothers and a sister also preceded her in death: Allen, Roger, and Alma Wood. Friends and family may call from 5-7 PM on Thursday at the Real Life Assembly in Salem, two hours prior to the funeral service.
