Barbara Mason

COITSVILLE - Barbara Pollock Mason, 63, of Coitsville, died peacefully at 12:07 a.m. Sunday at the St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. Mrs. Mason was born Oct. 13, 1948 in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Josephine Geiak Pollock. She was a graduate of Brookfield High School and Youngstown State University. She was employed by the Packard Electric Corp. until moving to Pontiac, Mich., where she worked in the plant safety department at the Pontiac Motor Works. Returning to Youngstown, she worked as a shift supervisor for Questor Corp, in Ravenna and was a supervisor at the M&M Hydroponic Greenhouse in West Middlesex, Pa. She last worked for L&M Engineering in Youngstown until retiring on a disability in 2003. She was preceeded in death by her parents and her husband, Charles E. Mason Jr., whom she married in 1975, who died in 2003. She leaves two sons, Charles E. Mason III of Coitsville and Steve Mason of Chicago., Ill.; two daughters, Karen Woods and Michelle Mason, both of Beaumont, Tx.; two sisters, Ms. Michaelene Pollock of Masury and Mrs. Erika (Don) Pitonyak of Commerce, Ga.; a brother Gerald "Jerry" Pollock of Prosperity. S.C.; and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held later when the family can be gathered together. Arrangements were handled by the Madasz Funeral Chapel in Brookfield.
