Barbara Summers

Barbara Summers, age 82 of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Vista Care Hospice. Born July 1, 1930 in Macomb, Illinois, she was the daughter of Cecil Crouch and Ellen Lenington. Barbara grew up in Bardolph, Illinois. She married Charles S. Summers on November 7, 1947, together they had two children. She spent most of her life in Youngstown, Ohio before moving to Las Vegas, NV. She resided there for fifteen years and in Las Vegas, NM for five years prior to moving to Columbus, GA where she has spent the last ten and a half years. She was a member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son, Wayne C. (Shirley) Summers of Columbus, GA., her daughter, Susan K. (Keith) Moody of Birmingham, AL., and three grandchildren; Lee C. (Rebekah) Summers of Atlanta, GA., Keith V. Summers of Atlanta, GA., and Krystine D. Summers of New York City. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Jerry E. Lenington. Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2013 from 5-7:00pm at Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel. Services are Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Internment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Barbara's caregivers at the Orchid Personal Care Home for all the loving and compassionate care they gave her during her stay there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
