Barrent Ryder Kittle

Services will be held on March 21, 2009 at 11:00am in Christ Episcopal Church, Clarksburg W. VA., for Dr .Barrent Ryder "Bart" Kittle, 62, of Boardman who passed away Friday January 16, 2009 in Hospice House. Bart was born July 29, 1946 in Charleston, W VA., the son of the late Harry M. and Florence Stealey Kittle. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Washington, PA., where he played trombone in the concert band and was on the track team, he received his BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and his MBA from West Virginia University, and his Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Alabama. Since 1994, Bart has been an associate professor at Youngstown State University in the Williamson College of Business Administration's Marketing Department. He was a member and past president of Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, a member of the executive council and social chairman; his professional affiliations included the American Collegiate Retailing Association and the American Advertising Federation. Bart valued spending time with family and friends, collecting music from several genres, photography, road trips to the Outer Banks, walks in Mill Creek Park, his Corvette and watching collage football games. Bart would do things on his own schedule, in his own way, and in his own time which usually resulted in a superb result. He leaves his wife Esther S. Newman whom he married in March of 2004 in Nags Head, North Carolina, two children; Emily A. Newman of Columbus and Gregory A. Newman of Denver, CO, one brother; Joseph S. (Mary) Kittle of San Antonio TX, and two nephews; Adam S. and Andrew P. Kittle both of San Antonio TX. Bart is preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can take the form of donations to the Student Advertising Competition Fund established by his family at Youngstown State University, One University Plaza, Youngstown, OH 44555 or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
