Barry G Adkins Jr.

Barry Gene Adkins Jr., 22 of Warren passed away Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following a courageous 3 year battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Warren on June 26, 1988, Barry is the son of Barry and Michele (Hawkins) Adkins Sr. A lifetime area resident, Barry is a member of Champion Christian Church and a graduate of Warren G. Harding. He was a student at Trumbull Business College pursing a degree in medical assisting. He had a great love for sports playing varsity baseball as well as casual games of football and basketball and playing Playstation with his friends. His greatest joy came from spending time with his son. He is survived by his son, Barry G. Adkins III at home; parents Barry Sr. and Michele Adkins; sisters Tiffany Marie (Charles) Palmer, and Bailey Ann Adkins all of Warren; paternal grandparents; Denver Adkins and Janice Grey; maternal grandparents Richard and Lora Hawkins; nieces and nephews, Jordan, Elise, Carson, and Raylynn Palmer and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by one uncle, Roe Paul Adkins and his great grandparents. Funeral services will be 11am Friday October 22, 2010 at Champion Christian Church with Rev. Kenneth Hopkins officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 6-8pm at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel, Warren. Interment will be at Meadowbrook Memorial Park in Champion. Material contributions may be made in Barry’s memory to the Barry Adkins Fund which has been set up at Seven Seventeen Credit Union. On Saturday October 23, 2010, a Spaghetti Fundraiser had been set up to honor Barry. Since Barry’s passing; the fundraiser will still be held but as a celebration of Barry’s life. It will take place this Saturday at Captain Kelly’s Bar and Grille, 4248 North River Road in Howland Township from 2-7pm.
