Beatrice Margaret Straniak, 87, of Warren passed away, Monday afternoon March, 9, 2009 at the Community Skilled Care Center where she had been a resident. Born March 18, 1921 in Daisytown, PA Beatrice was the daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Kovolick) Yuhanek. A graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Bea came to the Warren area as a child and had been a resident for most of her life. She worked as a nurse's assistant in the critical care unit at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for many years and was a homemaker. Beatrice was a member of St. Mary's Church in Warren, enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching and loved music and played both the violin and the piano. She enjoyed cooking and especially baking but above all Bea adored her family. She married her husband Andrew John Straniak on May 11, 1940. Together they shared 57 years of marriage and four children. Michael preceded her in death in 1997. Beatrice will be dearly missed by her children, Barbara (Thomas) Shafer, Michael (Kim) Straniak both of Warren and John (Kathy) Straniak of Poland, nine grandchildren, Brenda Slage, Connie Gumino, Sara Straniak, Deanna Voster, Monica Kurucz, Julie Rodemoyer, Pam Florig, Chris Marta and Brian, Straniak, nine great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and by a sister Molly Mickey of Warren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, by a son Andrew Straniak, two sisters and five brothers. The Rev. Bernard Schmalzried will celebrate a funeral Mass Saturday morning, March 14, at 11AM at St. Mary's Church. Family and friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30AM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place in the All Souls Cemetery. Material contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Church at 232 Seneca St. Warren, OH 44481 or to St. Vincent DePaul at 2415 Niles Road SE Warren, OH 44484. The family would like to thank the Community Skilled Health Center for all of the loving care and compassion given to their dear mother.
