Benjamin Ray “Ben” Housel of Hubbard, Ohio, died on Tuesday (5-15-2007) in the Sharon Regional Health Care System after a sudden illness. He was 19. Ben was born in Youngstown, Ohio on February 18, 1988, a son of Loren and Diane Housel. A 2007 graduate from Brookfield High School, he furthered his education by attending classes at the Trumbull County Career Center. He was a member of the New Life Christian Fellowship, Girard, Ohio. Ben enjoyed playing basketball as a youth, cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers, and he was proud to be his eighth grade football team manager. Ben was also a former Brookfield High School Band member. Ben loved his family and would help anyone he could. He wanted everyone to know that he was a C.O.R.E. organ donor. Survivors include: his parents, Loren his sisters, Colleen Housel, Bradenton, FL, Connie Housel-Perkins, Sebring, OH, Dawn Thomas, Youngstown, OH, and Skyller Housel, at home; his brother, Stacey-Tay Thomas, Warren, OH; his good friend, Joey Hosey; his aunt, Jean Caeser, Youngstown, OH; his favorite niece, Crystal Housel, at home; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grand-parents; Ray & Florence Housel; and by his uncle, Charles Caeser. Calling hours will be Friday from 4-7 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield, Ohio, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private.
