Bernard D. Haftman

Warren: Bernard D. Haftman, age 78 of Warren passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Autumn Hills Care Center, Niles, Ohio. Bernard was born on March 21, 1936 in Rickeyville, Pennsylvania to parents Henry J. and Anna (Markovich) Haftman. Bernard served his country proudly in the United States Marines, moving to Warren in 1960. Bernard married Elva M. Finch on December 4, 1982. He was a Buncher Operator for Delphi Packard, retiring after 40 years of service. Bernard was an award winning golfer earning several trophies in this sport. He enjoyed painting, wood working, gardening, traveling, dining out and going to movies. But he especially loved his feline companions, his kitties. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indiana's and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be deeply missed by those that survive him; his wife; Elva, sons; David (Jill) Haftman, Niles, Richard (Michelle) Haftman, Tennessee, daughter Julie Ann (Randy) Spaulding, Ostrander, Ohio, step-daughters; Cheryl Kapzath, Florida, Patricia Bowser, Florida, grandchildren; Jacob and Benjamin Spaulding, Ostrander, Ohio, Ashley Haftman, Niles, Gregory Kover, Warren, great grandson; Jaxon, brothers; Robert (Ilene) Haftman, Niles, and Don (Chris) Haftman, North Carolina. Bernard is preceded in death by his parents, sister; Lillian Eible, brothers; Edward and Henry Haftman. Visitation will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel from 12:00pm-1:00pm. Funeral Services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Crown Hill Memorial Gardens, Vienna, Ohio.
