Bernard J. Heubel of Niles, OH died at 11:22 PM Tuesday at his residence. He was 70. Mr. Heubel was born in Sharon, PA on Dec. 23, 1935, a son of Herman J. and Margaret J. Becker Heubel. Bernard graduated from Sharon High School in 1953. He continued his education at Youngstown State University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Science. He was a member of the Warren Ski Club and was an avid down hill ski racer, he was an active golfer, a huge Penn State Fan, Trumbull Boat Club, a CCD Instructor in Pennsylvania, a dance instructor at Arthur Murray Studio’s, and was very proud of being able to travel to Ireland for 1 year with General Motors. Mr. Heubel was also a member of St. Stephen’s Church. Mr. Heubel retired from Packard Electric in 1992 after 27 years as a Manufacturing Supervisor. Survivors include: 1 son, Thomas William Heubel of Dunedin, FL; 1 daughter, Mrs. Sharon (Henry) Russell of Struthers, OH; 2 brothers, Herman (Phyllis) Heubel of West End, NC, and William Heubel of Greensburg, PA; 1 sister, Mrs. Margaret (Bernard) Scully of Hermitage, PA; 2 sister-in-laws Leone Heubel of Cape Canaveral, FL and Jeanne Heubel of Punta Gorda, FL; 6 grandchildren, Justin, Kelly, Kayla, Robbie, Sharise, Shelly Heubel; 1 Great Grandchild, Kaydence Nicole Heubel; Numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews; also survived by his best friend and companion Judith Kellogg; Judith’s children for whom he loved Mrs. Sunny (Michael) Petry, Mrs. Kelly (Steven) Etchechoury; and Judith’s 4 grandchildren, Kyle and Michael also Spencer and Casey. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers, John and Thomas Heubel; 1 sister, Kathry Clark; 1 brother-in-law James Clark. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday at St. Stephen’s Church, with Fr. Thomas P. Kraszewski. Calling hours will be from 3-7 PM Sunday at the Lane Funeral Home – Niles Chapel. Burial will be in St. Rose Cemetery.
