Bernice A. Evans

Bernice A. “Bunny” Evans of 4537 Smith-Stewart Rd., Vienna, Ohio, died on Wednesday (10-10-2007) in St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Warren, Ohio, following an extended illness. She was 86. Mrs. Evans was born in Youngstown, Ohio on January 1, 1921, a daughter of Frank R. and Elizabeth C. (Dunker) McDonald. A 1939 graduate from Chaney High School, Bernice retired from Fairhaven Workshops in 1979 after 30 years as a Transportation Specialist. She was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church, Vienna, OH, where she was a former choir member. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, bowling, & reading. Survivors include: her husband, Arthur M. Evans, whom she married on Valentines Day, February 14, 1942; her children, Robert Evans & his wife Betty, Kinsman, OH, Arlene Sue Evans, Kinsman, Donald Evans, Oslander, OH, Judy Stefanik & her husband Steve, Vienna, and Gary Evans & his wife Sue, Vienna; her 10 grandchildren; her 10 great-grandchildren; and her 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her brother, Frank McDonald; and by her sisters, Marie Horvat & Margaret “Peg” Shood. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Vienna United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bruce McLaughlin, Pastor. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 PM at the Madasz Funeral Chapel, Brookfield. Burial will be Vienna Township Cemetery.
