Bernice M. Glodde

Bernice M. Glodde of Cortland, OH formerly of Austintown and Niles, OH, died at 10:45 AM Thursday at Cortland Health Care Center. She was 90. Mrs. Glodde was born in Canton, OH on June 2, 1915, a daughter of John and Margaret Ford Harmeyer. Bernice was a charter member of the Optimisses Club. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and made the best homemade pies. Her husband, Robert A. Glodde Sr., whom she married Oct. 28, 1933, died Feb. 16, 1987. Survivors include: 3 sons, Robert (Joan) Glodde Jr. of Tavares, FL, Terrence “Terry” J. (Donna) Glodde of Kinsman, OH, and James H. Glodde of Champion, OH; 2 daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Margaret) Raupach of Austintown, OH, and Ms. Rebecca Glodde of Niles, OH.; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; 1 son, Edward William Glodde; 3 brothers, James, Edward, and Herman Harmeyer; 2 sisters, Grace Spear & Ruth Koelble Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the Lane Funeral Home – Niles Chapel, with Rev. Deborah Dockstader, pastor of the Southside Presbyterian Church in Niles. Calling hours will be from 3-6 PM Sunday and one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pineview Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Church Hill United Methodist Church.
