Betty E. Ratell

Betty Ratell, 82, of Warren died Tuesday evening, Feb. 3, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center after a year and a half battle with cancer. Born March 18, 1926 in McConnellsville, OH she was the daughter of the late Fred Roberts and Cora (Sprouse) Davis. A graduate of Warren G. Harding H.S., Betty worked at Packard Electric for several years until 1955 when she became a full time homemaker. Betty attended the Tod Avenue United Methodist Church and loved to garden. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family. She will be dearly missed by her husband Joseph M. Ratell Sr. whom she married August 31, 1943, her daughter Gloria (James P.) Pillar of Warren, five grandchildren, Carolyn DeJacimo, James Pillar Jr., Deborah Gregor, Benjamin Ratell, and Lillian Ratell, and two great grandchildren, Josephine and Camryn Pillar. She was preceded in death by two sons Joseph M. Ratell Jr. and Robert M. Ratell, and by her siblings, Edgar Roberts, Louella DeNunzio, and Donald Davis Calling hours will be Friday evening from 6 to 8PM at the Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Anita Rayburn will conduct a funeral service Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 at 2PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the Crown Hill Burial Park.
