Betty J Beach

Betty J. Beach, 97, of Fowler passed away peacefully at 6:45 AM Sunday May 22, 2016 at Windsor House at Champion following a short illness. She was born Sept.23, 1918 in Akron, OH the daughter of the late Thad and Marion (Walker) Barker. A lifetime Trumbull county resident, Betty was a 1936 Graduate of Fowler High School and was employed several years at Wood's Market in Fowler and then as a cafeteria worker for Matthews Local School district retiring in 1984. Betty was a lifelong member of the Fowler United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, crocheting, traveling and camping. She and her husband spent many winters in Florida and were members of the Happy Travelers chapter of the Good Sam's Club, but most of all, she loved her family's activities and gatherings. On May 29, 1939, she married Gordon L. Beach Sr. and they shared 58 happy years together until his passing in 1997. Betty also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Charlotte Beach, a brother Thad Barker Jr. and by a sister Fern Jarvis. She will be sadly missed by 2 sons G. Leslie Beach Jr. of Denver, NC, Dennis A. (Barbara) Beach of Bristol Twp., and a sister Helen (Bud) Martin of Champion. She also leaves 5 grandchildren, Kim Grove, Debra Hilty, Douglas Beach, David (Denise) Beach, Allison (Will) Laine, and 14 great grandchildren; Jeremy, Tyler, Michael, Ryan, Matthew, Connor, Nora, Ryan, Egan, Eli, Ella, Edison, Jack, Charlie and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Tuesday May 24, 2016 at Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel where friends will be received from 10 AM until service time. The Rev. Jody Baker will officiate. She will be cremated and her ashes will be buried in the Dugan Cemetery. The family suggests material contributions be made to the Fowler Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept., Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market St. Youngstown, OH 44512, or to the donor's favorite charity.
