Betty J. Wire ---- 79 North Lima—Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday at Lane Funeral Home Austintown Chapel for Betty J. Wire, 79, formerly of Austintown, who went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning in Assumption Village. Betty was born November 3, 1923 in Youngstown, a daughter of Leo and Erma (Shear) Brennan and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother as well as a member of Boardman Baptist Church for 47 years, as well as its Vacation Bible School. She was also very active in the Ladies Missionary Fellowship, the Christian Women’s Luncheon. Betty was also involved with sewing for the Shepard Homes. Betty’s husband, Merlin A. (Moonie) Wire, whom she married June 28, 1946, passed away on April 2, 1990. She leaves a son Robert M. (Dana) Wire of Boardman, a daughter Wendy (Jeff) Drumm of Tucson, AZ., a sister Mary VanDyke of Austintown, and a brother Robert Brennan of Tucson AZ. Betty also leaves four grandchildren; Kyle R. of Cleveland and Shawn A. Wire of Boardman, Kristen and Jeffrey Drumm of Tucson. Four sisters; Agnes Engelhart, Katherine Marshall, Hazel Adolff, and Martha Egolf and a brother William Brennan, among others are deceased. Friends may call from 10 am to the time of the service at the funeral home. Betty lived her life by these words: “ The Lord works in mysterious ways and wonders to perform.”
